Droll
There are presently no open calls for submissions.
Droll is an online quarterly journal dedicated to publishing intelligent and droll fiction. We accept short stories, poetry, as well as other forms such as graphic or serialized fiction.
Make sure your submission is in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or Rich Text (.rtf) format. All other formats will be ridiculed only briefly before they are deleted and forgotten forever.
Your submission should be double spaced and set in a readable font. (Yes, 12-point Times New Roman is boring, but you're not making a chapbook, you're submitting a manuscript.) Include a word count as well as your contact information. Droll looks askance at submissions of more than 5000 words.
Droll does not accept previously published material. Copyright remains with the author, though Droll reserves the right to provide public access to all published stories through any and all of its websites.
Droll will only provide editorial feedback if we are interested in publishing your work.
We do our best to respond to submissions as quickly as possible; that said, patience is among a writer’s virtues. When querying about the status of submitted material, please include your name and the title of the piece in question.
